September 30 - Thunderstorm Approaching - I took a hike up the mountain this afternoon. There was a thunderstorm in the mountains inland. This is the view beyond the ridge to the east. It's wonderful the way the storms swirl counterclockwise and seem to come from the east.

September 29 - The sky was beautiful this evening with a storm brewing in the south. I love the way the mist was gathering between the mountain ranges. And the clouds were making wisps in all diredtions.

September 27 - Grasshopper - Or leaf hopper, I don't know. He or his relatives have certainly chewed holes in a lot of leaves. He is sitting on the leaf of a loquat tree here.

September 24 - Pomegranates on the tree. An appropriate picture for the second day of Fall. I managed to spend a little time taking pictures and processing them today. Still working on my site though.

September 10 - Logan - We're puppysitting this weekend. Sure keeps us busy.

September 9 - Taken Sept. 8 - I found a perfect bunch. These are growing behind my garden shed. I actually pulled a big old vine off the top of them and there they were. This was a toss up for choice for the day. I liked the natural look of the other shot compared to the "formal" feel of this one. http://www.susanappelphotography.com/photos/94323393-L.jpg.

September 8 - It's hard to find that "perfect" bunch of grapes for the all time perfect picture, but I thought these very realistic bunches of grapes looked real nice. The bunch on the right has a couple of tattered grapes that the birds have been munching and the bunches have large grapes, small grapes, red grapes and green grapes. There's a piece of wire showing, but that's natural too. I thought the thick old vine and the grapes draping over it made a nice composition. All very realistic.

September 6 - Grapes - I couldn't find a "perfect bunch". There are always some immature ones and the birds got quite a few.

September 4 - Orchid - I had to experiment with the aperture to get the top buds (farthest away)in focus in the low light. I finally used a flash with a paper towel as diffuser. I hate using flash up close. I love the thin delicate red things in the centers.

September 3 - Fading roses, fading summer...
